Unwavering

His council divine from the beginning to the end,
Has never waivered once from the path we defend.
God is an unchanging being, all his ways will never bow,
We cannot change his ways, only our hearts now.

The world would have you believe his path will change,
His laws of nature and doctrine of truth they’d rearrange.
No matter how strong the desire for change endures,
He cannot break his laws or change his doctrine he ensures.

Like the stalwart bulwarks of his Priesthood power,
We must watch and defend his light each and every hour.
We cannot drop defenses for the slightest breeze or whim,
But trust in his redeeming love and seek to follow him.

The men and women who stand against the altering wind,
Must ramparts be forever more, his doctrine not rescind.
Faithful and true to covenants we must forever be,
Only changing for the better when we our errors see.

Like unwavering pillars of granite standing firm and true,
Braving the storms that gather strength the night through.
May we bury our weapons of rebellion and follow his light,
Not leaving handles exposed to grab quickly to join the fight.

Becoming converted to the Lord, the only defense we need,
To stand against the harshness, when his hoards he does feed.
Be men and women steadfast and immovable bathing in his light,
He will support and defend you even in the darkest night.

Unwavering, unswerving, resolute, and unyielding to his demand,
Plant your feed on gospel foundations, be firm where you stand.
Persevering the ridicule from the building so large and grand,
Whose foundations are of earthly realms of shifting crumbling sand.

Build upon the sure foundation of Jesus Christ the Holy One,
Then with humble heart and clean hands you’ll behold the Son.
Who’ll raise you up and embrace you firm within his pierced hands,
Because you faced derision and still followed his commands.

When our conditions change our commitment must remain strong,
Take upon us his Holy name and be committed our whole lives long.
Being fully committed to follow the Savior from beginning to end,
Unchanging fidelity to God, his doctrine ever and ever defend.
