Beyond The Veil

The memories of a former life,
Of one I once had known.
Creep into my mind,
as moments I am shown.

I struggle to remember those days,
we sat at Father’s feet above the shroud.
And learned of his great plan,
how with joy we shouted out loud.

I wish I could remember,
the joy I felt that day.
Now that I struggle here below,
I need help to find my way.

It seems the pathways grow dim,
as I seek to find my path,
and return to him above,
and gain all the father hath.

He said it would not be easy,
he said many would lose their way.
But he’d provide a Savior,
to bring us home someday.

Now as we struggle every day
to remember what he said,
to follow the pathway home,
for us his blood was shed.

If we look to him as guide,
he will lead us to our home above,
where we can live forever,
and feel our Savior’s love.

So, help me to remember
that I’m a child of God,
if I can but remember this
and hold fast to the iron rod.
