Fear Not

When fear and doubt weigh heavy on my mind,
And the adversary does my will tightly bind,
I reach into the quiver of my mind and secure,
An arrow of faith so that I may long endure.

Fear is the antithesis of faith and of desire,
That binds us secure in the trial of life’s fire.
Until we catch hold of a thought from on high,
That brings us the freedom we so long deny.

‘God hath not given us the spirit of fear’,
No, but faith in his plan, and a prayer to hear,
Can lead us from points of desperations plea,
Into his bosom where our hearts long to be.

Fear of the unknown and the known combined,
May turn our hearts from faith we’ve defined,
That deems us unworthy his love to feel,
When we fail to remember he loves us still.

The Lord does not forget us, no, he never will,
Though we may feel and fear our fate to seal.
His hand will reach down and lift us from the brink,
When we fail to remember and eternally think.

Failure because of fear is another steppingstone,
When we remember his love, for he will condone.
Yes, he will erase the mistakes that we make,
When we set-aside our fears and ill desires forsake.

We need not fear the past or future, but live today,
The Savior of the world has shown us the way.
‘Fear not what man can do’ for he is always here,
Yes, he will lift and heal us all and eliminate our fear.
