Ransomed

Lost and wandering along a dreary path,
Darkness envelopes my mind enshrouded in wrath.
Piercing the solitude beyond the break of day,
Hoping beyond all hope I will somehow find my way.

Each new day a sliver of hope remains,
Pouring healing oil over all my inner pains.
Broadening my views to enhance my desire,
Lighting within a small palpable flame of fire.

From the distant memory, I hear a voice ring out.
You are not alone, so turn yourself about.
Find in me the wholeness, your life anew I redeem.
For I have ransomed you, when I hung on that beam.

My love, grace and mercy have paid the price for you,
Allowing every dawn of day to start your life anew.
My flesh and blood I freely gave and freed you from sin.
Find in me eternal life and return to me again.

For I have ransomed you, have paid the price complete,
Having won the battle for your soul with nails in my feet.
My hands were pierced a reminder that I took your pain.
Listen please my child, I ransomed you, for you I was slain.
