The age-old question a good one to be sure,
Has been a recurring theme long to endure.
It has held the minds of the children of man,
During times of trial and fear it simply can.
What does the Father desire for us to learn?
There must be a purpose his mind to discern.
Does the question deserve a truthful answer?
To put the mind at ease and your place ensure?
No matter the challenge we face and endure,
To be mortal and to question for a promise sure,
It seems to be a steppingstone to purely trust,
Relying wholly upon the Lord, we simply must.
Does the fact we face a challenge change truth?
Building on our faith day by day from our youth?
Or do we truly trust in the Lord and find our rest?
Knowing that he has a plan, and he knows best?
Our choice to live our lives, not questioning why.
Trusting in God and his plan his promises to try.
To follow the path we choose to walk and endure,
Trusting in the Lord, knowing his promises are sure.
