Abide In Me

When the challenges of life seem us to overwhelm,
And Christ our Savior simply would be our helm.
His call to serve him and walk with him each day,
Allows us to abide with him as we walk in his way.

His call to walk with him and find his peace each day,
To abide with him and in adversity choose to stay.
To gain the sword and shield he has for us provided,
Promising only for a short time to be divided.

When we feel overwhelmed with all our flaws,
Finding ourselves wanting in regard to his laws,
Choosing to abide in him, he will abide in me,
Then my vision of eternity he will help me see.

Seeking daily his presence I desire to bear,
Basking in his spirit, daily I want to share.
His life and glory may one day be mine,
As I walk with him in his pathways divine.
