Gethsemane’s Garden

Watch with me, he asked his friends to pray,
Be with me as I suffer and bleed today.
Alone with his thoughts, and mortal pains,
He worked out our salvation removing our stains.

The garden sod absorbed the precious blood,
An eternal witness that he gave his lifeblood.
A willing recipient the garden had become,
As the Savior determined to not be overcome.

The angels came and brought him resolve,
Providing the strength to finally absolve,
The chains that had bound all mankind,
Releasing death’s grip on the mortal mind.

His precious blood he freely gave to us all,
Working out our salvation, saved from the fall.
Only the great Jehovah the creator of mankind,
Could mark the path clearly, for us each to find.
