The Anchor of My Soul

The world has declared war on truth and right,
Where light and goodness has been turned to night.
The messages of despair and evil now prevail,
Leading the children of men their souls to sell.

How can we stand amid the darkness in broad day,
Where turning inward has become the way?
Finding his light to illuminate our clouded path,
Turning the corner away from God’s wrath?

Seeking to find the truth and light divine,
Must become the daily pursuit that is mine.
Knowing that Jesus provided the perfect way,
To find his light and internalize it each day.

Allowing his light to shine from within,
We can begin our changing from sin.
Anchoring our lives to him who does not adjust,
The Anchor of my soul, the Savior I will trust.
