Though stones and boulders throng our path
The pathway is marked so clear.
Though I stumble and at times I fall,
To the prize I’m drawing near.
It seems that when life gets hard,
And no one seems to care,
When one feels all alone in this world,
No burdens can they share.
That this is when the Lord draws near,
Watching over the trodden and the weak.
Who feel that they are walking the path,
Alone, and that they somehow are unique.
Though stones and boulders mar my path
And branches of thorns are strewn,
If I but put my trust in the Lord…
My branches he will then prune.
If I am to grow and learn the lessons of this life,
Then I must trust wholly in the One,
Who suffered more than I,
Even the Savior, our Father’s Begotten Son.
For he it is who balances the scales,
Of the injustice we all must face,
But search as we might, we’ll never find,
Peace without his loving grace.
Though the pathway’s rough and long
Victors we may still become at length,
If we’ll walk tall and remember all
The Lord will give us his strength.
