The Bread of Life

Beyond the power of our mortal life, a recompence we’d need,
One that was not fleeting, for time only, but for eternity indeed.
Who would pay the price of our sins, illnesses, infirmities the same?
Only One, Jesus Christ through his sonship divine, the Savior his name.

How could one take upon himself the weaknesses, and frailties of man?
Who could bring about mercy and bridge the gap of our mortal ban?
Only One, Jesus Christ could bridge the span so broad and impossible.
Making Life Eternal with God not only real, but completely possible!

Christ took upon himself all things in one, because his love never ends.
He it is who conquered death bridging the gap his atonement mends.
He suffered in the garden alone, and on the cross he bore all our sin,
He died and arose the third day forever banning death, yes, he did win!

Through his atoning blood and with his dying breath he did break,
The mortal bonds that held us tight, now covenants we can make.
To bind ourselves and in eternity remain, his new life provides to all,
For he it is who broke the cords and wholly saved us from the fall!
