Who Saved Me?

A lifetime of fear and doubts fill my mind with consistency,
As I struggle to understand who it was that rescued me.
Who provided me with spiritual nourishment in the day,
I begged for mercy as I battled my demons along the way.

Who reached down his hand to pull me up from the deep,
Dark and dismal days I strained to feel love as I weep.
Who provided solace when my faith ebbed over the edge,
Show me Lord, to him my heart I fully and deeply pledge.

When I look in the mirror and think my reflection shows,
The one and only who my tears, fears and sorrow knows.
I forget to acknowledge the truth of who owns my soul,
As I am rescued again and again from life’s rocky shoal.

As I look back at the evidence, I can truly see who it was,
Who wholly rescued me each time I fell just because,
His love is fully evident in his hands, feet, side and eyes,
It was the Savior, Lord, and Redeemer who heard my cries.
