Heaven’s King is Born

The shepherds in the fields rejoiced when angels loudly proclaimed,
That Christ the Lord was born on earth the Heavenly King was named.
Born on earth his love to show, he would claim our loyalty and our love,
While shepherds tend his sheep on earth, his angels keep watch above.

No mortal man could do his work, no earthly king could reign on earth,
He was born to pay the price for mankind, the first-born son a royal birth.
His work and glory were to bring to pass the immortality of all mankind,
Freeing us from sin, pain, and death, and the shackles of our mortal mind.

His glory reigns supreme, our earthly joy is swallowed up in Christ the Lord,
He broke the bands of death and hell as he unsheathed his mighty sword.
No greater love has any man that can surpass the love that Christ showed,
No penalty so grand, no greater price could be paid, then the Lamb owed.

He purged our hearts, he purged our souls and brought us back to light,
He bridged the gap and broke the bands and brought us through the night.
Rejoice today for it is known that Heaven’s King was born that night on earth,
Loudly today, proclaim in word and song that Christ was born a royal birth.
