Peace is Born This Day

Born this day in Bethlehem the Savior Christ the Lord,
Whose love and service did bring us all to one accord.
Born to bring peace on earth, through his Royal Birth,
Christ the Lord now he reigns as King o’er all the earth.

The baby wrapped in swaddling clothes laid in a manger,
Declared by his sacrifice, heaven would be no stranger.
Now he reigns as King over all, as his will he overcame,
Ours is to follow him each day and take upon us his name.

When the world is devoid of peace, to him we all may turn,
Our thoughts upon him distill as our hearts within us burn.
Peace will bring the joy we seek as we lean hearts to hear,
His call that brings us back to peace and draws him near.

Sing praises daily to his name and let his light so shine,
That all may see evidence exists through merits so divine.
May his grace, mercy, love, and peace forever will I find,
As I walk the dusty road my hand in his hand entwined.
