Each day I strive to build upon the blessings of the prior day,
Pleading with the Lord to guide and bless me each hour as I pray.
At times I pray with confidence knowing the blessing asked will come,
While other days I doubt my place and lack confidence to become.
Doubting in the Lord’s ability to build and lift my life in his own way,
I often travel down the dusty side roads instead of the freeway.
Yielding to the curves, valleys and mountains that life tends to be,
Finding solace in his temple where his purposes help me to see.
Finding myself at the edge of his presence where I knock to enter,
Approaching with confidence that I will keep Christ at my center.
Finding once again that he longs for me to be in his Holy place,
Where cares of the world dissolve as I seek to behold his face.
Confidently I travel for a time, my life feels once again renewed,
Only to find the road is blocked and to his house I must intrude.
To find myself once again prepared to seek his light so divine,
I yield myself into his hands and open my heart for him to refine.
