Our Great Constitution

Born of God and written by man,
Comes to us by divine command.
The founding fathers did not rely,
their own wisdom and strength to try.

Forged on threat of death to all,
They found the courage to stand tall.
They did not fear man more then God,
Nor the King of England with his royal rod.

They stood with calm abiding zeal,
Knowing that their cause was real.
The men who stood without fear,
Answered the call of freedom’s tear.

To America! To America! Someone said,
From Europe’s shores many of them fled,
To gain their freedom from tyranny,
They humbly bowed on bended knee.

Freedom of religion they sought,
Freedom from religion, not!
They came both young and old,
Through the rain, heat and cold.

No one can deny that the Lord had a hand,
He shaped the government of this great land.
He fought many a battle we should not have won,
And preserved for us this great nation.

Many a time defeat stood at the door,
But victory was claimed once more.
Our nation pulled together in times of trial,
And soon the Lord did on us again smile.

For freedom was won a terrible price was paid,
From the depths of the ruins the foundation was laid.
But now the people, many have turned,
And heeded not the lessons learned.

From histories annals we can see,
That God will not uphold us free.
Only if we worship him who made us all,
Who truly saved us from the fall.

For this great nation was surely found,
On principals both righteous and sound.
And the living document surely breathes today,
In its original form it shows the way.

Oh, the years have passed amendments too.
Now the judges and others proclaim, it’s through!
No longer can our society,
Abide by its philosophy.

The worn-out pages no longer can read,
As Lawyers and Judges flounder in their greed.
For a word one can sue and plunder,
It really makes the righteous wonder.

When the Lord will tire of this game,
Of the people who’re afraid to speak his name.
Do they know the Lord? They do not!
It’s no wonder they ban the thought.

Do they care what God may think?
No, they care about paper with green ink.
What can a single soul do today?
Stand for the constitution this is the way.

Revere your freedom and ever hold tight,
This inspired document that has led us right.
Stand for righteousness be brave and true,
Freedoms’ light will burn bright in you.
