Each day I must decide anew that Christ is my true center,
Will I plead with the Father and allow His spirit to enter?
Will I place mortal limitations on His trust and belief in me?
Do I believe in Him enough to trust that He believes in me?
That He is a changing God, and will not fulfill His promises,
And follow what He has assured, He will do what He says?
Will I commonly believe that He grows tired of my failures?
Or will I trust in Him that His love and grace forever endures?
Christ’s character is not limited by earthly bounds for me,
No, His love is eternal, He proved in the garden and on the tree.
His willingness to suffer, bleed and die is evidence enough,
To love and provide His grace and mercy for one so rough.
Keeping my life centered in Christ allows my faith to grow,
Remembering without doubt my trials and sorrows He’ll know.
Knowing He is not rushed through time but hears my prayers,
Daily as I center my life in Him, I will know that He truly cares.

Lectures on Faith: Lecture Third
3.12 “Let us here observe, that three things are necessary in order that any rational and intelligent being may exercise faith in God unto life and salvation.”
3.13 “First, the idea that he actually exists”
3.14 “Second, a correct idea of his character, perfections, and attributes.”
3.15 “Thirdly, that he changes not, neither is there variableness with Him; but he is the same from everlasting to everlasting, being the same yesterday, today, and forever; and that his course is one eternal round, without variation.”
3.16 “Fourthly, that he is a God of truth and cannot lie.”
3.17 “Fifthly, that he is no respecter of persons: but in every nation he that fears God and works righteousness is accepted of him.”
3.18 “Sixthly, that He is love.”
