Charity, The Pure Love of Christ

Charity, the pure love of Christ can only come from the heart,
We cannot love with our mind more purely than our inner part.
To obtain this pure love of Christ, we must unto the Father pray,
With all the energy of our hearts so that charity might stay.

“Men’s hearts shall fail them” is what the scriptures teach,
The cause of failure will be the inability to feel tho’ within reach.
For when we do not follow the Savior is when our hearts fail,
Leaving us unto ourselves at risk with no direct spirit to avail.

It is clearly through the heart that we draw closer to the Savior,
As we incline our hearts to him, to hear and seek divine favor.
To become the sons and daughters of God through change,
Repenting each day drawing closer, His image not strange.

Making Him a daily connection that we would not be without,
Provides hope and faith and fills our souls leaving no doubt.
As we become meek and lowly in heart, we shall become pure,
As charity fills our hearts to the brim, his promise will be sure.
