Building Alters

Our lives are meant to be much more than we can now see,
Choosing to align our hearts with the Father’s will us free.
Leaving behind our favorite sins and simply moving forward,
Seeking power every day as we search and learn his word.

Moving forward never looking back, depositing our load,
Building instead alters of sacrifice along our earthly road.
Willingly we give away those former things that hold us back,
Choosing each day to follow the Savior along our onward track.

When we align our heart with the Father, leaving our sins behind,
When we refuse to return to our former life, we cleanse our mind.
Building alters unto the Lord each week as we lighten our load,
Sacramental alter covenants we make along the dusty road.

His flesh and blood now uncovered blessed and passed to all,
A sacred offering from the Lord who truly saved us from the fall.
Choosing not to build up the great and spacious building throne,
Seeking instead for sacred alter ways, building stone upon stone.
