Hope in Christ

When our hope is waning and our tears flow like a river,
Our hearts need the constant nourishment of the Giver.
Calling upon his name, believing we will receive his light,
Increases our hope in Christ, even in our darkest night.

When our hope is found to be sure, unwavering and active,
Being led to glorify God despite the circumstances we live.
Our surety is our foundation with hope centered in Christ,
His atonement was given beyond any gift mortality priced.

When despair removes the last bastion of hope in the Lord,
Hope comes from our faith and anchors us with the sword.
To become sure, steadfast and immovable with our trust,
That he will reach down his hand and lift us as he must.

When hope flees, and seems beyond our reach in need,
With patience, his words in the scriptures we must heed.
Our sure Rock will anchor our very souls to him in his word,
As we bind ourselves to him, prayers will in unity be heard.
