Today I walked beside my mom my hand firmly held in hers,
She did not really notice me there, though I think she felt my stirs.
My heart felt full of love for someone so unselfish and so kind,
Who loved me tenderly as my body grew my love she did forever bind.
I wished I could ease the pain she feels as she kisses my cheeks goodbye,
“Don’t cry mommy” I say to her as her eyelashes like butterflies tickle my eye.
“We will be back together soon and hugs and kisses we will all share,
Then we can walk, dance and sing all day-long without a worldly care.
My walk with Dad, was just as nice as he hummed a familiar tune,
My heart filled with gladness and a longing sadness I had to leave so soon.
His familiar voice whispered loving words in my ear, “I love you Enoch” said he,
With gentle tears he washed my cheek, I wished my spirit form he could see.
My walk with Iris my loving sister who was insistent I come along,
Never cared that she would have to wait to welcome me with a song.
“Come to earth and just long enough to get a body for good”, she said,
“Then we can watch you grow into a man for by Jesus himself you will be led.
My walk with my brother Tobias my most familiar friend, I will miss him for sure,
It seems we’ve been best friends together for eternity we will both just endure.
The best part about my short journey here on earth…I am sealed to my family.
Born in the covenant I will walk with God until my family again I shall see.
I say my last goodbyes for a while as we walk to the place my body will rest,
Watching them place the tiny casket with care, loving me, but knowing what’s best.
One day I will walk back into the loving arms of my Savior who provided a pathway there,
I will with my family walk back into his presence with a perfect body, without a worldly care.
