Justice and Mercy

Justice provides the guidelines to return to the Father above,
Mercy provides the mechanism giving wings to the dove.
The priesthood acts in justice, but operates in mercy divine,
Balancing the scales between justice and mercy’s line.

His justice provides order, structure, boundaries, and penalties,
While her mercy provides healing, covering, and softening breeze.
A perfect blend, as mercy is the counterbalance to justice divine,
Not its opposite indeed, but its completion an eternal sign.

The left side of the tree of life is justice, order and priesthood,
The right side is mercy and loving kindness fully understood.
Together justice and mercy rule with perfect balance divine,
Neither asking more or less a true balance of scales to refine.

As I enter the temple, the portals of justice are met in kind,
As I enter the inner court ‘tis only mercy there I will find.
The ascent in both justice and mercy into their presence,
Justice provides the path, but mercy provides the entrance.
