Ascending to God

As I walk the covenant path back into His presence,
I am guided by His love for me as I worship in reverence.
Each step I take that leads me back to my eternal home,
Provides ascension step by step until I am known.

Each time I enter His Holy House a new step I take,
With intent I move closer to Him as covenants I make.
Taking His name upon me and enduring to the end,
Provides ascension to His throne my heart He does mend.

My longing desire to again behold His face leads,
My steps to draw nearer to Him as my spirit He feeds.
His spirit guides my steps in the path back to Him,
Finding fruit from the tree of life hanging from each limb.

My ultimate desire is to kneel worthy and clean,
To behold His hands, feet and face such a scene.
Ascending to my God, Redeemer, Savior and King,
Forever ascending I will eternally His praises sing.
